In this course, we will demonstrate some common practices that an everyday business user might experience when they’re browsing within the Data Governance Center. This course is particularly targeted to business users of the DGC who are not heavy users of the tool, but they still need to participate in data governance procedures, such as approvals, issue raising, traceability analysis, et cetera. A priority for any user within the DGC is being able to trust the metadata that’s there, making sure that it’s fit for purpose. In this example, we’re going to be demonstrating the role of a business analyst who’s been tasked by their CDO in order to find a report that depicts the usage of the Collibra Data Governance Center within the last year, broken down by unique visits, visit frequency, and feature usage.
We’ll begin by using the Collibra On-the-Go App in order to search for assets. Once we’ve found the asset, we’re going to inspect and modify its traceability diagram to view its relation to other assets. We’ll then identify an issue related to that asset and propose a new asset creation, and then we’ll wrap up by determining the asset’s validation and certification status.
