Instructor: Bhupinder Calotia, Technical Support Lead
Course Objectives:
- Examine configurations for cloud-hosted Catalog
- Assess solutions for secure on-premise data sources
- Select configurations for reverse proxy
This course is intended primarily for the business stakeholder or project manager responsible for the Catalog solution and the technical resources at your organization that will install and configure the Catalog in the Cloud solution. Catalog in the Cloud introduces a service that is hosted within your infrastructure and is managed by your team. We’ll outline the requirements for Catalog in the Cloud to allow you to better plan and procure the appropriate resources to help you reach success.
We will cover a high level overview of the solution and demonstrate the flow once a working solution has been implemented. We will examine Catalog in the Cloud as a series of configurations, that allow your cloud-hosted catalog to access your on-premise data sources in a secure way. If your Data Governance Center in Catalog is hosted by Collibra, but your on-premise data sources are not exposed to the Internet, and rightfully so, this solution will allow you to ingest and profile those data sources internally and then securely transmit only the metadata back to the Cloud. The benefit of this solution is that your Catalog is still easily accessible by your business users while not having to expose your data sources to the outside world. At high level, this solution is facilitated through an installation of an on-premise Jobserver application in your environment or data center. Your data sources will need connectivity to this service only.
